Amy Ensign, Producing Artistic Director
Amy Ensign began her career with Door Shakespeare 17 years ago as part of the Acting Company. Over the years, Amy has worked for Door Shakespeare in a number of capacities, including Education Director, Company Manager, Managing Director, and now: Producing Artistic Director. Select Door Shakespeare acting credits include Elmire in Tartuffe, Mistress Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, Julia in The Rivals, Jane in Pride and Prejudice, and Rosalind in 2012’s As You Like It. An actor, director, and theatre educator, Amy lives in Door County where she has performed with Northern Sky Theater, Third Avenue PlayWorks, Teatro Caravaggio, Theatre M, and The Peninsula Players. Amy holds a BA in theatre from the University of Washington and studied with the Suzuki Company of Toga-Mura in Japan. Currently the Drama Director at Sevastopol School, Amy is also a voyaging sailor, cyclist, and underwater hockey player. She lives in Sturgeon Bay with her husband and son.
