About Camp Will…
Camp Will is a weeklong workshop dedicated to the development of communication skills, language, and group social skills through the process of creative play and group scene work. Our goal is to nurture a young person’s ability to voice their opinions, communicate their thoughts, and ultimately, discover their creativity through ensemble work and the poetry of Shakespeare.
Daily Schedule
Each day begins with theater games and warm-up activities. Groups are then divided by age and experience. Younger students approach Shakespeare’s words through rhythm, playful language exercises, and story drama. Older students work on vocal and physical techniques that enrich the meaning of Shakespeare’s text. All sessions are outdoors on the grounds of Door Shakespeare’s Theatre at Björklunden, and each session is taught by professional actors from the Door Shakespeare company. Campers conclude their week at Camp Will by sharing their scene work on the Door Shakespeare stage and then watching their instructors perform on the same stage in a professional production. This year, it will be Romeo and Juliet.
Three Sessions
Campers may register for one session or multiple sessions. Camp Will is designed to welcome new campers to each session as well as provide enrichment opportunities for returning campers.

The Family Fund
The Door Shakespeare Family Fund was initiated four years ago by a board member whose grandchild attended the Door Shakespeare Summer Camp for the first time. She had so much fun that her family decided to ensure many summers to come for children of all income levels. The Door Shakespeare Family Fund provides operational funding for Door Shakespeare’s edcational activities, and Camp Will scholarships to campers who otherwise would not be able to attend. Please consider a donation to the Family fund.
Door Shakespeare’s Camp Will is proudly sponsored by Werner & Susan Krause, and the Door County Medical Center.
