Volunteer

Door Shakespeare’s volunteers help make the magic of live theater possible. From welcoming patrons to supporting performances and special events, volunteers are an essential part of each season and the community that gathers beneath the maple tree. Door Shakespeare’s volunteer program brings together generous, enthusiastic individuals who help create a warm and memorable experience for audiences, artists, and fellow volunteers alike.

Our team is currently looking for volunteers to help out before our performances. Responsibilities include greeting patrons as they arrive, assisting them as they park, or ushering them to their seats.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and at 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. We ask that volunteers arrive to the theater at Björklunden (7590 Boynton Ln Baileys Harbor, WI 54202) 75 minutes (1.25 hrs) before the start of the performance. Our Volunteer Start Times are 6:15 p.m., Monday – Friday and 3:45 p.m. on Saturdays.

For every performance a volunteer helps, they’re guaranteed a complimentary ticket and a free beverage from our concessions stand.

Don’t want to stop at one night?

If you volunteer for 3 of our performances, you’ll get a free Door Shakespeare Bumper Sticker in addition to your complimentary ticket and beverage per each performance.

If you volunteer for 6 of our performances, you’ll get a free Door Shakespeare Shirt in addition to your complimentary tickets, beverages, and Bumper Sticker.

And if you volunteer for 10 of our performances, you’ll join our Bard Buddy Program. Some of you may be familiar with the title Bard Buddy from previous seasons. This year, we’re drawing on that tradition by creating a group of volunteers we can recognize as consistent supporters of the work we do here.

Sign Up Directions

This year, we`re using SignUpGenius to schedule our volunteers!

If you are interested in signing up to volunteer, please review the available slots* on SignUpGenius and click on the button to sign up. The only required fields are your name, email, and phone number. If you leave any sections blank that we want to know about, we’ll call you directly.

*Selecting the “Available to be On Call” slot means we will not schedule you for that particular performance, but we will call and ask if you’re available in the case of a specific need or cancelled volunteer commitment. We will never schedule you for an “on call” shift without getting on the phone with you first.

Any questions? Please email Door Shakespeare’s House Manager at volunteercoordinator@doorshakespeare.com or give us our Administrative Offices a call at 920.854.7111.

Thank you for offering your time and energy to make some theater in the woods, we can’t wait to see you soon!
