Collaboration with Write On, Door County

Door Shakespeare Blog

CALL FOR TRUE STORIES!

Door Shakespeare, in collaboration with Write On, Door County, is seeking submissions from writers and storytellers for their inaugural, live storytelling event on Sunday, June 15th, 2014.
Inspired by Door Shakespeare’s 2014 season, featuring KING LEAR and THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, the organizations are seeking true, non-fiction stories from the community based on the theme: “Lost and Found”. Submissions should be no longer than 1500 words, written in the first person, and able to be read in front of an audience of all ages. After stories are selected, writers will have the opportunity to craft their storytelling skills with Jerod Santek of Write On, Door County and Jennefer Ludwigsen of Door Shakespeare before the event.

Whether you are a storytelling pro, or if you’ve never performed in front of an audience, or put your story on paper, as long as you have a great real-life tale, you will have the support to participate! The live storytelling event will take place on June 15th, 2014 at 2pm (location TBA). All stories and pitches should be emailed to lostandfound@doorshakespeare.com no later than Sunday, June 1st.
You can also contact the Door Shakespeare office at 920.839.1500 or Write On, Door County at 920.868.1457 with any questions. We look forward to your story!
