Thank you to Gwenn and Joseph Graboyes

As the smoke clears from our peninsula and our theater, Door Shakespeare would like to extend our gratitude to a few of our long- standing donors: Gwenn and Joseph Graboyes.

Changes in air quality have become more frequent in recent years as wildfires increase in number. Prior to this summer, Door Shakespeare relied on information from air sensors more than 15 miles away from our performance space, possibly leading to inaccurate readings.

While this past week has been difficult for all, we strive to find the good in everything.

Thank you to Gwenn and Joseph for their generosity at our 2025
gala which allowed Door Shakespeare to purchase our own air quality sensor. It is with this sensor’s readings that we have been able to make more informed decisions concerning air quality.

It is our top priority to keep our patrons, our actors, and our crew safe.

We are overjoyed to welcome everyone back into the Garden, to share our stories under the maple, to foster community under the stars, and to do this all safely.

Camp Will Session 4

August 10-14

We’ve added a fourth fun-filled session of Camp Will to our 2026 season!

Camp Will is a week long workshop dedicated to developing communication skills, language, group, and social skills through creative play and ensemble work for ages 8-17. Students also develop vocal and physical techniques that deepen their understanding of the text and strengthen their performance skills.

All sessions take place outdoors on the grounds of Door Shakespeare’s Theater at Björklunden and are taught by professional actors from the Door Shakespeare company.

The week concludes with campers sharing their scene work on the Door Shakespeare stage, followed by the opportunity to watch their instructors perform in the evening’s professional production.

Scholarships are available for this session!

Thank you to Sevastopol School for providing an indoor space for our campers and actors to play, create, and share their work this past week as we navigated the changing air quality.
