Scott McKenna Campbell
Dr. Scott McKenna Campbell returns for a sixth summer with Door Shakespeare. Previous design credits with Door include composition and music direction for the 2017-2019 seasons and digital sound design for Hamlet in 2021. Onstage, Scott has appeared across the Midwest regional theatre scene in Shakespeare roles including Feste (Twelfth Night), Puck (Midsummer), and Grumio (Shrew). He enjoys an ongoing actor-manager role with the Ohio Shakespeare Festival where he has composed music and lyrics for multiple new works including the upcoming Legend of Sleepy Hollow (2022). Scott earned a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison English Department, an M.Litt degree in Shakespeare & Performance through the American Shakespeare Center/Mary Baldwin University partnership, and an MA in Arts & Creative Enterprise through the Bolz Center in the Wisconsin School of Business. When not working in theatre or research, Scott is the principal songwriter for Ohio folk band The Wind & The Rain and a performer/interpreter of traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, England and Scandinavia.
