Todd Denning*
Todd is delighted to return for his second season with Door Shakespeare. He last appeared as Leonato in “Much Ado About Nothing” in 2018.
Todd lives in Milwaukee, and for more than 30 years, he has been blessed with opportunities to work as an actor, director, teacher, fight choreographer, sound designer/engineer and, once, as a stage manager. Since 2008, he has served as an adjunct faculty member at Marquette University. Directing credits at MU include “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” “The Foreigner,” “Title of Show,” and “How I became a Pirate.” At First Stage, in Milwaukee, Todd directed numerous Mainstage and Young Company productions, including “The Quiltmaker’s Gift,” “The Winter’s Tale,” “Gathering Blue,” Macbeth,” “The Diviners,” and “Twelfth Night.”
As an AEA actor, he has worked extensively in Milwaukee and at regional theatres across the country. Most recently, Todd played Ross, in “Macbeth” for Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Other regional acting credits include seven seasons with Utah Shakespeare Festival, South Coast Repertory, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Tennessee Rep, Georgia Shakespeare, Willamette Rep and Artpark & Co. Milwaukee acting credits include Milwaukee Rep, Next Act Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Renaissance Theaterworks, Skylight Music Theatre, Milwaukee Shakespeare, In Tandem Theatre, Optimist Theatre and First Stage. Todd holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California-Irvine.
